Reiki

What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese technique utilized for stress reduction & relaxation that also promotes physical and emotional energetic healing.

Every living being has life energy (Ki) flowing throughout…through organs & tissues, and around us in a field of energy called the aura. When the healthy flow of Ki is disrupted, it causes diminished functioning within one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body, eventually leading to illness. Reiki works to heal by repairing the disrupted flow. The practitioner identifies problem areas and releases these blockages to restore healthy flow.

What to expect from your provider

Summer is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and also a Certified Reiki Healer in Usui Holy Fire III. She combines her knowledge of anatomy and physiology with universal Reiki energy to activate the natural healing processes and restore physical and emotional well-being. After your session with Summer

You will receive an electronic summary of all energetic and auric imbalances in email outlining what was sensed and released in relation to each chakra. Oftentimes, intuitive information will come through for clients solely for the purpose of healing, personal development, and self actualization. Any information that comes in is also included in the summary as well as customized activities or exercises to supplement energetic and subconscious findings throughout your session. If you prefer to not receive any intuitive messages, that is a boundary that is respected.

What to expect during a session

The patient will lie on a table, fully clothed. The practitioner places their hands lightly on or over specific areas of the head, limbs, and torso using different hand shapes so the transfer of energy takes place. During this time, the practitioner’s hands may be warm and tingling. Each hand position is held until the practitioner senses that the energy has stopped flowing. When the practitioner feels that the heat, or energy, in their hands has abated, they will remove their hands and may place them over a different area of the body.

Reiki in medicine

Reiki is offered in over 800 hospitals across the US. Reiki has been found to decrease recovery time from surgery, improve mental attitude, and reduce unwanted side effects of medications and other medical procedures. A research study at Hartford Hospital in Connecticut indicates Reiki improved patient sleep by 86%, reduced pain by 78%, reduced nausea by 80%, and reduced anxiety during pregnancy by 94%. Improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, speed healing, and reduce other symptoms of illness.
